New BDO Kabayan ATM Card for OFWs (with EMV chip 2018)

Banco de Oro (BDO) releases their new Kabayan ATM Card which is now integrated with EMV chip.

Using this new EMV-powered ATM Card, you can transact to any ATM with Europay, MasterCard or Visa logos.

Here’s the old and new BDO Kabayan Savings ATM card:

Banks standardized this EMV chip in order to unify all debit/credit cards with Europay, MasterCard and Visa affiliation. Thus, to save money from making individual cards for each type.

If you’re an OFW, BDO instructed you to  change your old Kabayan ATM card into the new one.

For OFWs in the Philippines:

Go to any BDO branch in the Philippines and request for a new Kabayan Savings ATM card (with EMV-chip) for FREE.

  • You can get this new card in an instant when it’s generic (with no name).
  • You also have the option to get a personalized new card (with your name on it) but it takes 3 days to process in Metro Manila and 7 days in other provinces. It’s also FREE.

For OFWs Abroad (Outside the Philippines):

You can get the new card through your Authorized Representative in the Philippines. He/she could be your family member. You will authorize him/her to get your new card in the BDO branch in the Philippines. Just take note of the following:

  • Call the BDO Call Center or Customer Service at +800-8-6318000 or (02) 631-8000 and tell them that you want the New BDO Kabayan ATM Card. You will be given a REFERENCE NUMBER that you will need to send to your Authorized Representative in the Philippines. The REFERENCE NUMBER is required by the BDO branch.
  • Fill-out a Letter of Authority (LOA). You can get this from your Authorized Representative or you can download it here: (BDO Letter of Authority)
  • Send these documents to your Authorized Representative in the Philippines:
  • Original copy of BDO Letter of Authority
  • Photocopy of your valid ID (government-issued)

Your Authorized Representative must also bring a valid id to the BDO branch. He/she can get the new card free of charge.

  1. Sir, may kabayan atm card ako nakuha ko siya last year mga month of june 2017? Meron na siyang chip. Kelangan ko pa bang palitan ang card kO?

  2. sir, my emv chip card na po ako.. pero ngtry po aq 1 time mgswipe and withdraw.. pero nde po ako mgkpgswipe at withdraw..bakit po kaya ganun?

    • Mam Gracia, una, tiyakin niyo po na yung ATM machine na itatransact mo ay may MasterCard logo, or Visa logo or Europay logo. At isa pa kelangan po muna ipa-activate yung ATM mo para magamit diyan abroad. Tumawag ka sa BDO Customer Service para ma-activate yung ATM mo.

  3. sir ask ko po nasa kingdom ako ngayon sa ibang branch ko nakuha kabayan card ko. Ngayon po meron na ako authorization letter ung downloaded galing sa bdo at iba need na requirements binigay ko sa representative ko pero sa branch po malapit sa amin papalitan. Bakit po need pa ng approval?

    • Diana, ipadala mo yan dun sa Authorized Representative mo. Pwedeng kamag-anak o pamilya mo dito sa Pinas. Sila ang magdadala ng Authorization Letter doon sa branch of account mo (which is BDO Tuguegarao Branch). Wag kalimutan magdala sila ng VALID ID.

    Para saan ba yung MasterCard na logo? Para din bang credit card? Puwede ko bang gamitin itong ATM as Credit card kahit walang laman yung ATM ko?

    • Lenar, you cannot use your ATM Debit Card as a Credit Card. Hindi ibig sabihin na kapag may MasterCard logo ay credit card na. Pag walang laman ATM card mo, hindi mo talaga magagamit yan.

  6. Hello po dito po ako Lebanon Hindi pa po nakuha emv card ko gamit ko po prin yon kabayan atm pra s savings ko ok prin po b paguwi ko nxtyr or s kuya nlng ipdala skin,paano po yon iacctivated db baguhin new password!please po kasi alala po aq don ipon ko tnx🙏

  8. Hi. May BDO Kabayan Savings Card po ako kaso matagal ng di nalagyan from my Mom-in Law in HK until ako na mismo ung nag abroad here Dubai, can i re-activate it or apply for a new one?     • Hi Mary, you should contact BDO Customer Service and ask if your BDO Kabayan Savings Account is still active or not. If it’s still active, you can still use it (deposit or withdraw).

  9. Good morning new user po for BDO kabayan savings account paano ko po b ma access Yung account ko dto SA Muscat Oman.. bago pa KC pero Ng ddeposit n ako. Gusto ko LNG maopen to sure n pumpsok Yung dndeposit ko

  10. Hello po, may tanong lang po ako… Mage-enroll po sana ako sa online banking ng BDO but can’t seem to get through expiration date ng newly replaced kabayan savings ATM card ko. Sa ATM card ka po, ang nakalagay ay 06/28, I tried putting June 2028 pero hindi pa rin po ako makapag enroll—this is under Personal Information and OTP section. I tried Cash Advance PIN and requested a CA PIN pero kelangan ko pa rin magfill-up ng details with expiration date on it. Paano po ito? Thank you so much in advance for answering.   11. sir ang mama ko po pumunta kanani sa bdo agdao branch davao city dala ang mga document na yan. pero sabi ng taga doon ng need pa daw ako tumawag sa callcenter at ginawa ko kaso ang prob, may mga tanong na magkano ang laman ,, i lang ang withdraw and kailan ang last gamit na imposible ko pong ma sagot kasi ko mahigit na pong 2 years ako dito sa thailand. sila mama ko po ang gumagamit noon na ngayon di na magamay kasi nga may bagong kayong card. so for sure di ko talaga masagot yon kaya ending di raw ng match. so meaning di na approve yong change card ko . BAKIT PO NEED KO PA PO mag callcenter? binasa ko po dito walang namang nakalagay… hopefully po magawan ng paraan na makapag palit ng card ,,, salamat po… worry ko ang safety ng laman ng ATM na yon. need answer po

  12. This is not updated.. i feel so upset and disappointed following this direction..
    mag papalit ako ng atm dahil nsa abroad ang asawa ko at recently ngpadala cia. badly needed k po ang padala ng asawa ko dahil bayarin po ng tuition fee..
    we followed this direction .. pero sabi ng teller d po puede ung mga dala kong docu. bcoz of the the following..
    1. BAWAL DAW PO UNG SCAN.. so need daw i mail sakin ng asaawa ko ung form becoz they needed th original sign of my husband ( suski kelan pa darating ung sulat at mgkunu ang charge hassle sa OFW kong asawa dahil malayo ang Batha na padalahan sa saudi
    2. NEEDED SAW PO KUMUHA NG REFERENCE NUMBER FROM THE BDO CALL CENTER! which is not indicated in this procedure.. at needed daw asawa ko ttwag international calls.. so hassle..
    im so upset but i do respect the teller kaso d appropiate ung approach sabi nya aad mam mali yan d orig at need twag sa bdo call cnter balik nlng kau,, tpos sabay sabi NEXT!! grabeh d man malaki ung padala ng asawa ko mkksagip nmn un ng budget ng isang pamilya ngaun 1 buwan.. now ned ko mangutang dahil sa hassle nto.. im so sorry for this lomg comment..
